Cordaites & Araucaria sunset

A forest of gymnosperms of the genus Cordaites and evergreen coniferous trees of the genus Araucaria silhouetted against a colorful sunset during the Late (Lopingian) Permian/Early Triassic period about 250 million years ago. The Cordaites were soon to become extinct while the Araucaria live on to this day.
