Sunrise on Ceres

If Ceres has an atmosphere, it is a very tenuous one and would likely be most visible when the Sun is near the horizon. In this image a rising sun reveals a rugged, frost-covered landscape. The Sun would appear only a third as large as it does from the Earth and would take less than five hours to travel from horizon to horizon at the equator.
